Peter and Monica came to Ireland hoping to build a better life and start a family.
However, their experience in Ireland did not meet their expectations, and they struggled to adjust, particularly to the cold, damp weather.
They decided to apply for IOM Ireland’s Assisted Voluntary Return & Reintegration Programme. As IOM swiftly processed their application, it became clear that Monica was facing significant medical issues due to the stress. IOM immediately arranged medical care in Ireland to ensure that both Peter and Monica were fit to travel.
Additionally, IOM connected the couple with the IOM team in their home country to provide reassurance and support.
Once Monica’s medical condition stabilized, the couple joyfully boarded the plane, ready to return home, with IOM supporting them throughout the entire journey.
Since returning, the couple has realized their dream of starting a family and used their reintegration grant to open a mechanic shop.
