While on holiday in Ireland, John and Ella encountered an unexpected crisis when Ella went into early labor. The mother and baby spent nearly 10 weeks in neonatal care at a Dublin hospital, and after being discharged, the family found temporary accommodation in Dublin.
During this challenging period, the family decided that returning to their home country was the best choice for them and their newborn. They contacted IOM Ireland to apply for the Assisted Return and Reintegration Programme.
IOM quickly processed their application, working closely with the hospital to ensure both the mother and newborn were fit to travel. Additionally, IOM assisted the family by coordinating with their consulate to secure their travel documents. Throughout the process, IOM provided guidance, ensuring the family’s return was carried out safely and with dignity.
John and Ella have since returned to their home country, where they have happily settled and used their reintegration grant to open a tattoo studio.
