A young woman arrived in Ireland, eager to start a new chapter in her life. However, she struggled to adjust to the cold climate and faced challenges working due to mobility issues. Realizing that remaining in Ireland would be more difficult than she had anticipated, she made the decision to return home.
She reached out to IOM Ireland and applied for the Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (AVRR) program. IOM staff coordinated a comprehensive medical assessment with her General Practitioner and ensured that all travel arrangements were tailored to her physical needs. Additionally, wheelchair assistance was arranged at the airport and during transit to ensure her comfort throughout the journey.
Since returning to her home country, she has been using her reintegration grant to establish a sewing and alterations business.
